Our client operates in >40 countries and has a very heterogeneous ERP landscape with only a few countries connected to their Enterprise Service Bus. In fact, they were running >15 different ERP solutions such as SAP, AS400, Navision, and small country-specific ERPs.
Customers manage their profiles/master data in a myAccount area that’s part of a centralised SAP hybris-based e-commerce solution.
Specific organisational and technical challenges included:
• ensuring consistent master and order data is available and accessible throughout the company
• enabling a country's accounting and sales teams to access customer master data to keep track of this and contract changes
• enabling the marketing and online-marketing teams to access customer profile data and run online-marketing / marketing campaigns
• enabling the local sales force to generate follow-on business using master and profile data.
We had only three months to deliver the project and integrate it with the various country ERPs and the SAP hybris e-commerce platform.
We built the solution using our e-business connector suite and a rigid service contract driven integration approach, and delivered it globally in an agile fashion.
All the country organisations involved can now access the relevant customer master, order and profile data. The project is in evolution with the centralised customer profile continuously being enriched and extended to give more fine-grain data to the sales, marketing and online-marketing teams.
